The term case is used to refer to a concrete instance of a pedagogical or a professional scenario. To differentiate cases from pedagogical and professional scenarios is especially useful when there are several instances of the same pedagogical and professional scenario, each constituting a case on its own. Cases are also written by those who carried out or observed the case.

An example of a planned case, which is also a pedagogical scenario described by UU on an educational and instructional design course is available at: http://www.kp-lab.org/intranet/design-teams/pedagogical-and-professional-scenarios/educational-and-instructional-design-uu.doc/view
